My first encounter with an alligator came when I lived on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. My apartment overlooked a beautiful retention pond, and a small alligator would frequently climb on the bank just below my balcony.

At the time, I thought it was pretty cool. I don中出少妇视频檛 ever remember being scared. Maybe because even though my apartment was on the first floor, it was still raised about 10 feet off the ground. Or maybe it was because he wasn中出少妇视频檛 very big and just didn中出少妇视频檛 seem intimidating.

I can also remember watching a huge alligator on the golf course near the newspaper. He would just sit out in the sun and barely seemed to move.

Today, I feel different. Our house in Leland sits on a scenic retention pond, but the alligator seems much more threatening. He中出少妇视频檚 about six feet long and always seems to be lurking in the water or poised on the bank ready to lunge at something 中出少妇视频 or someone.

That said, I know the alligators were here before we were, so we have no choice but to live with them. You can read more about living with alligators in Gareth中出少妇视频檚 McGrath中出少妇视频檚 cover story in today中出少妇视频檚 StarNews.

As for my neighborhood alligator, I haven中出少妇视频檛 actually seen any vicious behavior from him, but he is a menace. My neighbors are constantly posting videos and photos of him sculking around the neighborhood.

And one recent hot day, when my husband was cutting the grass, I went into panic mode while I was upstairs looking out the window and saw the gator in the pond 中出少妇视频 swimming right toward my husband 中出少妇视频 whose back was to the pond.

I tried calling his phone. No answer. So I ran down the stairs as fast as I could and started screaming out the door.

My husband looked at me like I was crazy, and the alligator must have thought so too because he started swimming in the opposite direction. My husband said he中出少妇视频檇 seen the alligator out there but wasn中出少妇视频檛 worried about him and didn中出少妇视频檛 think he was going to be a problem.

In between gasping breaths from what was now a full-on panic attack, I yelled at my husband and made him get away from the pond. Yes, we have to live alligators, but I don中出少妇视频檛 have to like it.
